Blinding high noon sun
makes for great shadows.
Cars whizzing by on a two lane highway–mountains covered in glaciated ice to the left and a half-frozen choppy Cook Inlet to the right. Which would be a better death–a mountainside collision or drowning in the cold waters of the far north?
Two days of downhill action for the boys–this is so different from my Kansas childhood. I did not see a mountain until my late teens. They have known rugged ridges all of their lives.
I have this urge to make these bits into trees. Should I? There is a voice inside my head saying this would be childish, but then another voice says that is exactly why I should do it.
Another half-finished favorite just might make it to the quilting phase.
After waiting patiently for two months, Gertrude has arrived! My three-dimensional muse, my doppleganger, my very own dress form.
I hope everyone is enjoying the last days of 2013.
