Thursday night was the fifth annual Object Runway show here in Anchorage, Alaska. It is an amazing spectacle of performance, art, and fashion. Every year, the artists push the previous year’s boundaries. You just don’t know what will happen next.
There was fish skin and human skin.
There was a lady in maxi-pads,
and a lady in diapers.
There was love and longing held together with spandex.
There was a mushroom dress
and a light show.
cardboard coffee sleeves,
and seed bags.
A flying Raven
and a lady wearing persistent cow parsnip stems
meet at the end of the stage.
An Ice Queen dressed in straws,
and a little girl wearing candy wrappers.
There were candles
and pop culture.
A rubber band man,
a masked man,
an egg man,
and a man with flowering privates.
There were bangles and beads made of gift cards,
and speaker wire.
And there were three very lovely ladies wearing felted wool, Carhartt denim, hunting camouflage, and vintage Pendleton plaid wool.
And thank you Lila for sharing photos!
If anyone else out there has good photos of my models, I would love to see them.
