Last Friday was the opening of ART CLOTH NORTH II at the Blue Hollomon Gallery here in Anchorage, Alaska.
ART CLOTH NORTH II is a SAQA Alaska juried regional show. This is the second year we have had a AK SAQA members show hence the II after the name. I wrote about the first ART CLOTH NORTH here.
The turn out was fabulous for the event. The gallery owners felt it just might have been one of their largest crowds yet.
The people were so thick that I had a hard time getting good photos. As you know, fiber is always better in person, but I tried.
If you missed the opening, you still have plenty of time to see the show. It will be hanging until the end of February.
There were nine AK SAQA members with work in the show. AK SAQA member and show organizer Diane Melms made this great poster featuring all of the artists and their work. Diane has new website which I think you should check out by clicking here.

As you can tell by the images, we are a very diverse group. If you are in Anchorage and interested in learning more about the Alaska SAQA group, please join us for our monthly meeting. Our next gathering is scheduled for Tuesday March 8th from 10AM to 12PM at the meeting room in the Kaladi Brothers on Brayton Road.

Looks fabulous. I love your poster publicity, presentation . . . everything. I’ve been thinking about art cloth, and other uses for surface design besides art quilts.
