October 2017 Teaching Schedule

In just a few weeks, I will be headed out on my last teaching trips of the year. It should be noted that the last day to sign up online for classes at the International Quilt Festival is Friday October 6, 2017.

Here are the details.

Friday, October 20
9:30AM – 3:30PM
Workshop—Making Prints out of Solids

Saturday, October 21
11:15AM – 12:15PM
Lecture- 15 Years of Patchwork

Houston, TEXAS October 30 – November 4
International Quilt Festival

Monday, October 30
2 – 5PM
Workshop—Lines + Triangles = Squares
Learn the basic of improve piecing, how I work with color, and fun ways to take take your own strip sets and make dynamic quilts.

6PM – 9PM
Workshop—Artful Oven Mitts (This class is full, so take one of the other ones!)

Tuesday, October 31
9AM – NOON
Workshop—Improv Patchwork—Lines & Shapes (This workshop is also full.)

2PM – 5PM
Workshop—Authentic Patchwork—AKA Kitchen Sink Quilting
I have finally decided to call this workshop—Kitchen Sink Quilting—The ART of Making Do. This is a super fun workshop all about designing quilts with what you have.


Wednesday, November 1
2PM – 5PM
Workshop—Modern Broderie Perse (This class is full.)

Thursday, November 2
NOON – 2PM
Open Studio Knit/Crochet/Etc—Color—It’s Relative. 

2:30PM – 4:30PM
Booth #822 The Craftsman’s Touch-Books—Come Visit. I will be signing my book.

This is me in 2013 doing my VERY first national teaching demo.

Friday, November 3

Meet the Teachers—Improvisational Patchwork – Lines & Shapes

Line + Shape—Solo Exhibition at Hello Stitch  November 1 – December 22

Friday, November 10

Artist Reception & Book Signing

Saturday, November 11
Workshop- Riffing on Tradition
12PM – 6PM

This concludes my teaching schedule for 2017. Starting in November, I will be home in Anchorage, Alaska stitching away until April 2018.
