Virtual Teaching Schedule 2020 Open Enrollment!

A lot has happened since I started teaching virtually on September 9, 2020. Basically, I am learning to ZOOM for a living. The traditional limits of me traveling to a guild, shop, or festival and teaching no longer exist. Additionally, no matter where you are in the world you can join me. How cool is that?

    Old School Workshop

In this blog post, I would like to share with you the THREE workshops that I will be offering directly to you this fall.

These three workshops are a comprehensive exploration of the concepts and techniques I use in my work while also being fundamental patchwork design workshops.

Making Prints out of Solids $105

Workshop Description: Using solid colored quilters cottons, students will learn how to stitch an assortment of pieced prints including stripes, dots, lattices, plaids, and tracks. While learning these new techniques, students will also be given information about working with solids colored fabrics, improvisational piecing techniques, and ideas for taking these techniques and creating original quilts.

Dates & Times
Saturday, October 24 & Saturday, October 31, 2020
1PM—4PM AST

This will be my second attempt at offering a workshop directly from me to you. I learned a lot from my first experience, so this one will be NEW & IMPROVED. This workshop will feature the following components—

  • Two three hour workshop sessions including live lectures & demos, group discussion, and feed back sessions
  • Both workshop sessions will be taped and available for viewing for 30 days
  • Opportunity to join my student Facebook Group which provides a great way to connect between workshop days
  • Experienced moderator who will take care of all of our technical/ZOOM needs
  • Class size limited to 30
  • Scheduled short one on one consults that will happen outside of regular workshop sessions

Hi Maria, Would love to do your circle and curve workshop – but can’t do it in November. When will you do it again? Jeni from Australia

    • Dear Jeni- I hope to offer one independent workshop a month that is opened to the general public, so yes. I will offer it again, but it will probably not be until late spring. Thank you for your interest!

  2. Hi Maria – so glad you have figured out a way to keep presenting and teaching during these unusual times. Shared your info with our new program chair at Ocean waves quilt guild in Lewes DE. Hope you two connect !

    • Dear Mary! Thank you for commenting. I would love to work with Ocean Waves again. You know, I have gotten a lot better since my original gig with you folks. Wow. So long ago. I hope you and all the other quilters in Lewes are doing good, staying safe, and being creative.
