I had a hell of a head cold for half of my week. I try never to take my health for granted, and this was a good reminder. Sometimes you’ve just gotta slow down and let your body sneeze.
Mackey’s quilt is done. This was truly a McCarthy collaboration. Lots of love from many generations went into this quilt.
I added two new tools to my sewing box this week. A silk organza pressing sheet works wonders. No more shiny black fabrics for me. I still haven’t gotten used to manipulating the fabric under the organza. It feels awkward, but I know with time, I will adapt.
I am Marcy and Katherine Tilton’s newest super fan. If they wear wrist pincushions, then so do I. I cannot believe I waited so long to get one of these. No matter where I travel, I’ve got pins! I can keep other pointy sharp things like sewing needles and safety pins close at hand as well.
Walt says I look punk rock.

The Great Snow Wall of Birch Street is now a babbling brook. Another week of sunrises and things will be green.
I finally finished my Emery Dress.
This means I’ve got a fancy new dress to wear to the Wrangell Mountains Center’s fundraiser. I hope to see you there. This is the last invite, as by this time next week all the fun will be over. The amazing artwork on this flyer was done by Kristin Link. You can see more of her work here.
Before next Friday evening, I’ve got a serious amount of spring cleaning to do. Can you believe that I am going to have a silent auction in this space in just five days?

Goodness, I hope you recover quickly from the cold. For me it is allergies this time of year, and a box of tissue near at hand is a RULE. Love the dress and wrist pin cushion. Mary- Thank you for the kind words. I’m good now, but I know plenty of allergy sufferers. It’s the worst, isn’t it? I can’t believe how quickly I adapted to the pincushion. Like the snips, I feel naked without them!
