It seems a bit incredible, but I am going to Madeline Island, Wisconsin to teach Making Prints from September 27-October 1, 2021. Yes. That is right. In one week, I will be here at the Madeline Island School for the Arts.

Making Prints is my foundation course–all other courses I teach grow from this one. If you have enjoyed studying with me virtually and have been waiting for the right moment to take an in person class. This is that moment.

It is the only week long workshop in person workshop that I will be teaching in 2021. The next time I will be offering a week long in person workshop is the end of March 2022.

The idea of being in this space, with a small group of students (the class size is currently under ten students) for an entire week of study sounds like quilting heaven.

We will begin each day with a lecture and a series of demos. From there, you will work towards creating your own amazing authentic original quilt composition. I will be your guide.

We will be exploring all the shapes and all the bits. We will also be talking about improv piecing, color, and quilt composition.

Making Prints
Monday, September 27–Friday, October 1, 2021
Students will learn how to piece an assortment of prints—stripes, dots, tracks, pointy shapes, plaids and more. While learning how to build these new units, students will also be given information about working with solids colored fabrics, improvisational piecing techniques, and ideas for taking these techniques and creating original quilts.

I would love to see you on this trail. It is going to be amazing!
